In just 3 starts at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale Ryan is proving that he will be a contender every week!! After getting off to a slow start with a DNF / 27th place finish on opening night Ryan bounced back with a victory two weeks ago and 3rd place Saturday night.
It was an exciting day from the time we unloaded at the track… at the end of practice Ryan was 4th quick overall on the timing sheet and qualified 2nd for the race. The top six qualifiers were inverted putting Ryan to the inside of row 3. Ryan got a great start and within a few laps was in 4th and battling for 3rd. Ryan and former kart competitor Eric Gunderson put on a great show with Ryan edging by to take the 3rd position. Ryan then set his sights on the top two and was able to catch them with just a few laps to go when the caution fell. The race looked like it was going to end with a green white checker shootout but was cut short due to time and ended under caution. “My goals tonight were to back up our win with a strong run, race clean, and earn these guys respect” - Ryan
What made this even more impressive is how few races this young driver has in this series. Saturday night was only the 7th start in the 140 HP Raceiver Legends race car!! “Ryan just continues to impress me with his focus and ability to run his race and not worry about what is going on around him” – Mark Reed. Ryan’s father Mark Reed was a multi time winner in the NASCAR Camping World West Series and former Southwest Series.
