CAMERON CAPTURES POLE FOR FINAL NASCAR WINSTON WEST RACE OF 2000

Austin Cameron, making a triumphant return to the Winston West Series and put his No. 12 AC Motorsports Monte Carlo on the pole for the Home Depot 300 at Irwindale Speedway. Cameron paced the 1/2 mile in 18.1 with a speed of 99.448. Second quick was NASCAR Southwest Touring Series champion, Matt Crafton in his first-ever Winston West start. Tim Woods III was third quick, also in his first Series start. David Gilliland, two-time winner at the track in the Super Late Model Series was fourth followed by the driver that will win the 2000 Championship, Brendan Gaughan.
