RYAN REED CONTINUES STRONG ROOKIE SEASON

The Liberty High Freshman from Bakersfield, CA continues his string of podium finishes. Saturday night was the 3rd straight finished inside the top three in the INEX Legends Race cars at the Toyota Speedway at Irwimdale.

“LEGENDS: Ryan Reed, 14-year old son of veteran Grand National West driver Mark Reed, of Bakersfield, continued his strong rookie season. He raced from fourth starting spot in a 25-car field to second place, 0.549 behind Landreth. The youngster took second from 2007 Legends track champion Darren Amidon on lap 21 with an inside pass entering turn one. Reed climbed from fourth to second in current Legend points. Eric Gunderson and Mark Lungerich followed. Twenty-three of the 25 starters finished; 23 of them ran all 30-laps in a 14:15.715-timed race with two caution-flags at mid-race.” – Irwindale Speedway

Ryan set some very simple goals for his 2008 rookie season…run every lap possible and position himself for the best possible finish in every race. “This has been an unbelievable start to the season, the cars are very fast and I really enjoy the tough competition.” – Ryan

After 4 races Ryan has climbed to 2nd in the championship points at Irwindale just 46 points behind 5 time series champion Tom Landreth. With 11 races still remaining Ryan hopes to close the gap on the championship and add a few more notches in the win column!!

Ryan Reed Racing wants to send out a special thanks to crew chief Robert (Toby) Tobias for all his help and support. Toby was not able to attend last week’s race but without his setup and cell phone we would not have been able to grab another great finish!! We also want to thank our great sponsors Citrus Industries, Approved Memory, H&S Body Works and Odwalla. For more information and schedule please visit ryanreedracing.com.####
