HARDIN HEADS TO IOWA WITH NEW EQUIPMENT AND ATTITUDE

NEWTON, Iowa – The NASCAR Camping World Series will head to Iowa Speedway May 18th for the highly anticipated and extremely competitive U.S. Cellular 200 which features drivers from both the Camping World East and West Series. This is the only race this season where the two divisions meet together for points and bragging rights.

Eric Hardin, driver of the No. 5 Direct Shopping Network Chevrolet, has been preparing his physical and mental game for this race.

“I am really focused on making the race this weekend in Iowa. I want to be the first driver with one leg to win a NASCAR race and also know that I was able to beat the best in both divisions of our series” Hardin said. “We have new equipment and new attitudes right now so we are just going to roll the dice and take the win our way.”

The Team Hardin Racing shop has been very busy the last few weeks as Hardin and his crew put new cars together which they built after a hard crash at Phoenix International Raceway earlier this season.

Sunday’s race will field 44 cars; however, Hardin and the rest of the 41 competitors to make it in Sunday’s race will have the challenge of racing against NASCAR SPRINT Cup driver, Kasey Kahne, as well as Supercross Legend, Ricky Carmichael who drives in the NASCAR Camping World East Series.

There will be many NASCAR SPRINT Cup team scouts at this race looking for their next driver to invest in and bring up to the big leagues. Hardin is very aware that a good race and strong finish here mean continued racing and possible new sponsorship opportunities for himself and his team.

The Iowa Speedway is a very highly revered and well maintained facility which was helped designed by NASCAR SPRINT Cup driver Rusty Wallace.

The green flag drops at 4:00 p.m. CST and consist of 200 laps of racing. The race will be aired live on HDNet with enhanced replays on SPEED Channel. Check your local listings, for more information go to www.erichardinracing.com or www.iowaspeedway.com.
