FLASHCO SRL ROOKIES JUSTIN WESTMORELAND AND JOSH COMBS GOING AFTER THE VICTORY CIRCLE CHASSIS ROOKIE OF THE YEAR TITLE

WILTON, California – The Victory Circle Chassis Rookie of the Year points battle is beginning to take shape. At the top are two young Flashco SRL drivers who are not only first and second in rookie points, but are also both in the top ten in the overall driver points battle. Leading the rookie points is the #9 A&P Auto Enhancement Ford of Justin Westmoreland of Madera, CA. But just behind him is the #7 Country Bear Ford of Sacramento’s Josh Combs.

Westmoreland is currently 8th in over all points after strong showings in the first two races of the 2008 Flashco SRL season. Justin said he owes a lot of thanks to both his father, his crew (Todd Chase and Jeff Deason) and his sponsors. But he is also thankful for fellow SRL driver Greg Voigt who gave the Westmoreland team one of his old chassis after Justin’s early crash last year. “I am really happy that our first two races went smoothly. “I feel the team and I are learning every week so I hope we can continue to get better at Altamont,” said Westmoreland.

Also in the top in the top ten in over all driver points (10th) is Josh Combs. Combs is doing well for an SRL rookie but he continues to be his own worst critic with his strong desire to translate fast practice times into better results in the main event. “I would like to get my first top 5 finish in the Flashco SRL at Altamont,” said Combs.

“We are very excited about our talented rookies this year! They really have proven to be competitive and quality drivers,” said Steve Fensler, executive director of the SRL. “It is great to see younger drivers like Westmoreland and Combs in the top 10 in overall points as well. They have really learned a lot already this year from many of the Tour veterans,” added Fensler

Westmoreland, Combs and the drivers of the Flashco SRL will be at Altamont Raceway Park (www.altamontracing. com) on Saturday, May 24th.
