FLASHCO SRL SOUTHWEST TOUR SERIES IS BACK IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA THIS SATURDAY AT ALTAMONT MOTORSPORTS PARK

WILTON, California – The Flashco SRL Southwest Tour Series is back in Northern California to take on the half-mile oval in Tracy at Altamont Motorsports Park. The 3rd event of the season is this Saturday, May the 24th. This will mark the 8th year in a row that the SRL series has visited Altamont which has hosted twenty-six SRL events with fourteen different winners. The late Jeff Anthony leads in all-time SRL wins at Altamont with seven.

A full field of more than twenty-five Flashco SRL drivers are expected, including championship points leader and Irwindale winner Jim Pettit II, Troy Ermish who won the opener in Roseville and trails Pettit by just 8 points, Craig Raudman who is only 9 points out, as well as local driver Todd Bammer of Pleasanton, CA in the #18 car who currently sits at 5th in Championship Points.

Justin Westmoreland who currently leads the 2008 Victory Circle Chassis Rookie-of-the-Year chase will be going for his first SRL win. Additionally, newcomers to the SRL this year like Ryan Mock of Salida, CA in his #13 Mid Valley Iron and Metals Chevrolet and Travis Bennett of Ellensburg, WA in his Giumara Companies #21 Chevrolet are among the pre-entries for this weekends 100 lap event that will be looking for a strong finish in the front of the field.

“Half-mile ovals like Altamont are where our Flashco SRL drivers can show off the power of their cars and also where their crews can demonstrate their skills for setting up the cars for the challenges this track presents”, commented Steve Fensler, executive director of the Flashco SRL. “We look forward to putting on a great show for the first leg of the Tri-Holiday Classic and are honored to be a part of Military Appreciation Day at Altamont this Saturday” continued Fensler.

The Flashco SRL Southwest Tour Series will be part of a full day of racing Saturday at Altamont Motorsports Park that not only includes the SRL Southwest Tour 100, but also the NASCAR Late Model 100 (w/ Westcar stars), ALSC's on the half-mile, Future Champions and more!
