MIRA LOMA, Calfornia - Scott Dodd in his family owned #25 Chevy Monte Carlo had a weekend with many ups and downs. Dodd who had to miss the last race due to engine problems was eager to hit the track on Saturday morning. Dodd was please when he went straight to the top of the board. Then the #9 Super Late Model driven by Dan Moore went out at the end of the practice session and edged Dodd by a few hundredths and moved Dodd to second. When Dodd qualified he was second on the board behind the #5 car driven by Travis Thirkettle. By the end of qualifying Dodd ended up 5th out of the 19 car field.
Dodd started the 50 lap main event in the 5th position. The car was loose, but Dodd was able to maintain his position for the first half of the race. On lap 27 a competitor made an attempt to pass and made contact with Dodd pushing him into the wall off of turn two. Dodd wasn’t able to continue due to damage from the incident.
“We had a good running car and it would have been a great finish, but it was cut short” said Dodd. Dodd would like to thank Kenny Smith and Rick Kellar (Kellar Racing Engines) for there help with the engine. Without there help we wouldn’t have been able to race at all this weekend.
