CWI Racing team owner, Milan Garrett, recently purchased a second Chevy Monte Carlo to run in the South West Tour this next season. Garrett, who drives the Team's Craftsman Truck entry, has had enough of calling the shots and wants more time behind the wheel himself. As team owner, he could have simply chose to drive the car the Team ran this past season. Instead, he chose to buy a second car. According to Garrett, "I bought the first car for Clint (Curry). I wouldn't take that away from him. He has a real future in this sport. I just want to have some fun too."
Curry, who works full-time for CWI Racing, is in the process of rebuilding the newly acquired car. "A new Port City chassis is on it's way. As soon as we get this put together, we're going back to Mesa Marin for some more practice." Curry stated.
While this team has a solid group in place that works well together, look for some changes. With Garrett in the driver's seat too, the Team will need to make some decisions on who will assume the role of crew chief.
As team member Cindy Crumb puts it, "We're more than just a team. We're a family. We spend a lot of time together including Thanksgiving and Christmas. This next season will undoubtedly be our best."
