WILTON, California - The Flashco SRL is happy to welcome back Nathan Tucker to the series as part of Mike Merchant's Mid-Valley Iron and Metals race team. Tucker will be driving the #41 Chevrolet at Altamont Motorsports Park on July 5th which is race 2 in the Tri-Holiday Series. Tucker hasn't had any seat time in the SRL for a while but he is no rookie.
Tucker was the SRL's original champion winning the title in the series' first year back in 2001. He has 34 SRL starts to his credit and out of those starts he has 23 top 10 finishes and 17 of those were top 5's! In 2001 when he was the SRL series champion, he also had two wins and three poles.
Tucker was a long time regular at Stockton 99 starting out in street stocks with his dad in 1991 and moving up to late models in 1997 when he was rookie-of-the-year at Stockton. He joined the SRL in its first year in 2001 and won the series championship and finished second in points in 2002. So as you can see, Tucker is no rookie when it comes to competing in the SRL.
"It's been a few years sense I last drove on a regular basis. I have known Mike Merchant for some time and look forward to driving for him now that he is a team owner", said Tucker. "I have had success in the past so I look forward to getting back out there and seeing how I do with this new group of drivers. I plan to drive in the rest of this year's Flashco SRL season", continued Nathan.
