CAMERON LOOKING FOR HIS THIRD WIN AT DOUGLAS COUNTY SPEEDWAY

ANTELOPE, California –Bill McAnally Racing’s driver of the No. 18 NAPA AutoCare Toyota Camry, Austin Cameron is no stranger to Victory Lane at the Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, Oregon. He’s been there two out of his three career visits to the .375 speedway. His two wins at the Douglas County Speedway came while piloting the NAPA car for BMR and were back to back wins beginning in 2002. Only one other driver has two victories at the historic Oregon speedway and that was NASCAR legend Jack McCoy back in the mid to late 60’s.

Cameron is currently fifth in the chase for the NASCAR Camping World Series West Championship after a sixth place finish in the most recent race event in Irwindale.

“It was a rough night at Irwindale. Oh boy! The car was just “no bueno”. I had to really work hard”, laughed Cameron, who made his 100th career start at the July 4th NCWS West event. “The No. 18 NAPA Toyota was just tight in the middle and loose off. Crew chief Mike Steurer made a lot of changes at the break at lap 100 but the car continued to have the same handling problems. It was just one of those nights.”

“I want to thank BMR, NAPA and all the people at the speedway for making my 100th start memorable.” Cameron was presented with a cake by his team owner Bill McAnally prior to the race.

The Toyota Bi-Mart Firecracker “150” presented by NAPA AUTO PARTS will be on Friday July 11, 2008 at the Douglas County Speedway. The race will be televised live on HDNet beginning at 8:30 pm PST and presented in an enhanced replay on SPEED Channel’s “Racing Across America”. Check your local listings.

Tickets for the race event at the Douglas County Speedway are available at local Oregon Bi-Mart stores or at the Douglas County Speedway Fairgrounds Business Office Monday thru Friday from 8am – 5 pm.
