The North State Challenge Series event scheduled for July 19th at Shasta Raceway Park has been canceled. For the past two weeks, the Redwood Empire Fairgrounds has been used as a Fire Camp; forcing Ukiah Speedway to shut down. After meeting with Redwood Empire Fair and Cal Fire officials, Ukiah Speedway will be able to reopen beginning July 12th. The speedway will then be able to start the daunting task of making up the events they were forced to miss. The NSCS and Ukiah Speedway share a common set of officials and are both promoted by the Aiken family. As a result of the shared staff the decision has been made to cancel the NSCS event.
After consulting with several NSCS teams and track promoters; Blair Aiken, NSCS Promoter has decided that adjusting the remaining 2008 schedule would be best for everyone. The remaining schedule will go from six events to four. The final four races will be; Redwood Acres Raceway (8/9), Redwood Acres Raceway Fall Classic(9/27), Shasta Raceway Park Open Show, formerly known as the Win River 125 (10/4 & 10/5), ending at Ukiah Speedway for the Halloween Bash (10/25 & 10/26). All events will have an increased purse. Ukiah Speedway will continue on with the schedule for July 12th. The program will include Legends of the Pacific, Modifieds, Bombers, Bonus Bombers, and Bandoleros. This will also be the Bomber King of the Hill Challenge Series Race #4 (originally scheduled for June 28th). Grandstands open 4:30pm with racing at 6:30pm.
