LEWIS WINS ASANWT EVERGREEN STATE FAIR 150

Monroe, WA (July 28, 2008): Gary Lewis won his 2nd American Speed Association Aero Exhaust Northwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment race this season. On Saturday night at Evergreen Speedway, Monroe, WA as part of the ‘Washington 500’ Lewis won the ‘Evergreen State Fair 150’. Jason Frasier finished second after leading the most laps and series point leader Brad Stanwood finished third.

Lewis is having a dream season with two ASANWT wins he has added three other wins including becoming the only back to back winner of the Montana 200. Frasier had Lewis on his bumper all of the first 100-laps. During the fuel break at lap 100 both Frasier and Lewis discovered a tire loosing air pressure. Frasier continued his dominance of the race until lap 125 when Lewis seemed to turn it up a notch and after a few futile attempts was able to get by Frasier to take the lead for the first time and continued on to gain the win. Lewis won his only other race with the ASANWT at Pacific Raceways on June 7, 2008.

Stanwood had a career best finish in his rookie year with the ASANWT. His point lead widened for the 2008 title of ASANWT Champion. Darin Stordahl matched his best finish at Yakima earlier this season with another fourth at Evergreen.

The best finishing crate motored car was driven by Tom Berrow finished fifth. Jay Sauls in his first ASANWT race this season finished sixth.

ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment gives the fast qualifier a new ECHO chain saw and a kit from Oregon Saw at each ASANWT race in 2008. Jason Frasier won the ‘Cutting Through the Competition’ fast time award. He said’ “This is what I needed and wanted. I just bought a new home and have to cut down some trees.” This award has all the drivers at each race pushing their cars to the limit vying for the coveted ECHO chain saw.

Next up for the American Speed Association Northwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment is the South Sound Speedway, Tenino, WA ‘Miller 200’ on Saturday August 9. The ASANWT will have a race within a race with the top finishing tour driver receiving first place points.####
