HAYWIRE MOTORSPORTS TEAM CONTINUES TO CLIMB IN THE LLMRS

Having to start in the back, the team was looking for a test session to prepare for the real race to come later. But things would happen fast, and McDougald found himself challenging for the lead on the first lap of the Trophy Dash and going on to win the evening’s first race. “I’m really happy with the Dash win,” said driver “Terrible” Tim McDougald. “We won the Dash here during the first race of this season, so to come back and follow that up like this is really cool. I can t thank my guys enough. They really gave me a great car.”

With one trophy in the bag, the #68 HayWire Motorsports team turned their focus to the Heat Race, looking to gain some points in an event that saw the team ahead of them drop out early on. Knowing this was a prime opportunity, they wasted no time in taking advantage of it. At the drop of the green flag, the #77 of Vic Beard would take the lead with McDougald and his #68 Toyota Camry chasing him. That chase would end as they came to the white flag as McDougald would take the lead on the outside from Beard and go on to win the Heat Race. “That was a great battle. I gotta give Vic some kudos, he left me some room to run and it was a lot of fun racing him today.” said McDougald.

With the clean sweep in their sites, the #68 HayWire Motorsports / KMB Design Groups / Print-NW / Ringers Gloves / Mauritsen Enterprises Toyota Camry had but one thing left to do, win the Main Event. Once the green flag flew, McDougald wasted no time moving to the front and taking control of the race. Once out front, the #68 Toyota Camry would begin to stretch the lead out until a mid-race caution would bunch things back up. But back under green again, it was apparent that no one had anything for McDougald and his #68 HayWire Motorsports / KMB Design Groups / Print-NW / Ringers Gloves / Mauritsen Enterprises Toyota Camry on this day as they sil on to win the Main Event and sweep the entire=2 0event. “Wow, I can’t describe it,” said McDougald. “I’ve never been a part of something like this. I’ve never even been in a position to have a shot at something like this. I can’t say enough about my guys. They were on it all night. They never stopped working on the car to keep it fast. They do such a great job and no one ever sees it. They work so hard to give me a great car so I can go out there and sit in the spotlight. They really deserve all the credit today. I can’t thank them enough. This will be a race we won’t soon forget.”

Having done all they could to gain points in a championship chase that saw them start out with a DNS, the team continues to climb up the standings. Adding to that the momentum they have going into the series’ next event at Yakima Speedway, you can bet that this team will be hard to stop.
