JIM WARN SCORES SECOND STRAIGHT TOP TEN FINISH AT EVERGREEN SPEEDWAY IN THE NASCAR CAMPINGWORLD WEST SERIES

MONROE, Washington -- Jim Warn kept up his momentum scoring his second straight top ten finish in NASCAR Camping World Series action this past Saturday night at Evergreen Speedway. Warn finished the 150-lap contest in the ninth position after qualifying tenth.

Warn continued his learning exercises at Evergreen, a track he saw for the first time in competition this past weekend. His MJ2 Racing team found a setup that Warn liked and the track took hold of during afternoon practice but the team would have to wait until after 10:00 PM to get the race underway as a full racing undercard filled the schedule.

The 150-lap race was broken into two 75-lap segments. Warn had his workload increased on lap one of the first segment when several cars made contact in turn sending Warn through the grass to avoid the action. The caution did not come out leaving Warn at the tail of the field with the leaders nearly three-quarters of a lap ahead.

Warn settled into a rhythm and just concentrated on hitting his marks. A long green flag run and a blistering pace set by race leader Jeff Barkshire saw Warn go down one lap by lap 60. Warn finished the first segment in the 12th position.

During the ten minute break between segments, the MJ2 Racing team changed right side tires, fueled the car and gave the Chevrolet a wedge adjustment hoping to gain traction.

The adjustments seemed to be working over the early portion of the second 75-lap segment, but Warn had his hands full with a loose condition that also beset his teammate Jeff Jefferson.

The second segment went caution free giving Warn time move up the running order. When the checkered flag flew just before midnight, Warn had been able to move up to the ninth position giving him his third top ten finish of the season and second straight top ten performance.

"Any time you can finish in the top ten it is good," Warn said. "For our first visit here to Evergreen I am pretty happy. The car was a handful at the end but I learned a lot that will help us the rest of the year."

The finish also boosted Warn into the top ten in the point standings. "We want to finish the year in the top ten and now we are back in the mix," Warn stated. "We are focused on top ten finishes the rest of the season, but tonight was fun and it was good to have a lot of family and friends here to enjoy the race."

Warn and his MJ2 Racing team will be back in action Saturday, August 2 at Miller Motorsports Park located in Tooele, Utah for round ten of the 13-race schedule. For all the latest news and information regarding Jim Warn and MJ2 Racing, log onto www.mj2racing.com.####
