JOSH COMBS HEADING TO THE FLASHCO SRL SOUTHWEST TOUR EVENT AT COLORADO NATIONAL SPEEDWAY

SACRAMENTO, California -- 18-year-old Flascho SRL Late Model Series rookie Josh Combs and team will make the 1,100 mile trip from his home in Sacramento, California to Erie, Colorado in search of his first SRL victory.

The "United Power/Touchstone Energy 150" on August 16th at the Colorado National Speedway marks the fifth race of the 2008 season for the Flascho SRL Late Model Series, and will play host to some of the top late model racers on the west coast.

The event will be Combs first time competing at Colorado's only 3/8's mile asphalt track. Combs, the current SRL Late Model Series Rookie Championship point leader will face not only the regular stars of the SRL series, but local Colorado racers looking to use their home track knowledge to their advantage.

His 2008 racing season has been filled with its ups and downs. He currently stands sixth in the season championship point standings with one top-five finish. His record however has not been indicative of his recent performances.

In his last two outings Combs has been one of the quickest cars on the speedway, and has been a threat to win each time, finishing fourth in the May Altamont Motorsports Park event after starting 20th.

In the last event, July 5th at Altamont, Combs led much of the race before a flat tire sent him to the pits under green flag conditions, ending his hopes at scoring his first win and regulating him to just a ninth place finish.

The entire Combs Motorsports team now look forward to improving their current position in the season point standings with a solid performance against what will arguably be the SRL's toughest field this season.
