StateLine Stadium Speedway is the tenth race in a thirteen race Championship season with a points race that has only forty-eight points separating first through fourth.
All the top drivers from ASA/NSRA will be there to protect or improve their 2008 Championship points. Points leader Matt Hein will be attempting to retain or increase his narrow points lead over Andy Alberding, Jake Mann and Justin Mack. Sierra Jackson will be looking to back up her first ever win in ASA/NSRA competition at Ephrata Raceway Park with another one as well as narrowing her point gap to Matt Hein. Cory Lockwood, Greg Middendorf and R. J. Fronsman will be working hard to earn all the points possible to close their points gap.
The racing on the quarter-mile high banked oval at StateLine Stadium Speedway will be tight and quick. With two local sprint car series attending this race a large field of up to thirty cars are expected. ASA/NSRA drivers must be well prepared to face the large field to keep or improve their standings in the 2008 Championship!
Time trials start at 6 PM with racing beginning at 7 PM Saturday August 23rd Rick Brown, five time ASA/NSRA champion, holds the track record of 11.893 seconds set on May 27, 2007. Rick is expected to attend the Northwest Super Shoe Show to attempt to eclipse his current record time around the high banked oval.
ASA/NSRA is the most exciting opened wheel racing on the west coast and by far the fastest. NSRA drivers currently hold 20 all time track records at venues throughout the region. These are open wheeled, winged sprint cars running on paved ovals utilizing 750 horsepower alcohol-burning engines running on tracks that vary in length from quarter mile to five-eights mile facilities.
