Littleton’s Roger Avants scored another win in the ableplanet Late Model feature Saturday night at Colorado National Speedway during the Hajek Chevrolet NASCAR Knockout. Ronnie Hults took the time-shortened Snap-On Tools Pro Truck feature and Tommy Roe took home another Suss.net Sportsman feature. Jimmy Hansen came in from Indiana and broke Jace Hansen’s win streak in the RMLRA Legends feature. Frank Denning III won the CARC Modified Coupe feature and Wendy Sutherland took the crash-shortened Witthar Racing Bus race after Jared Wall broke the wall on the back-stretch.

The CARC Modified Coupe feature was first to roll onto the track and Gary Land jumped to the early lead over Rick Bubak, Frank Denning III, Scott Rhoades and Carl Vair. Corey Gordon backed his car into the turn 4 wall for a lap 3 caution flag, and Denning was second on lap 5. Rhoades great run ended on lap 10 as his car started popping and then came to a stop for a caution flag. Michael Fetters was now in the fifth position and Denning shot to the inside of Land on lap 11 to take over the lead. Land was throwing everything he had at Denning to make the pass, but nothing succeeded. Jaime Bubak got by Fetters for fifth late in the race and Denning took the win over Land, R Bubak, Vair and J Bubak.

The RMLRA Legend Car feature rolled out next onto the track and Kyle Clegg led early over National racer from Indiana Jimmy Hansen, Jace Hansen, Phil Peconi and Jon Krizman. On lap 8, both Hansen and Clegg were three-wide fighting for the lead and Ja. Hansen spun bringing out the caution and sending him to the rear. Mike Murr was now in the fifth position in a great run for “Hot Man Chicken”. Darrell Stewart got by Murr on lap 9 to take over fifth and Clegg was battling with Ji. Hansen for the lead as Ja. Hansen was charging hard through the field. Ji. Hansen started opening his lead back on lap 16 and Ja. Hansen was now fifth. Ja. Hansen was up to third on lap 18, but ran out of time catching the leaders as Ji. Hansen broke Ja. Hansen’s CNS win streak. Clegg came home second over Ja. Hansen, Krizman and Peconi.

Lee Kemmit jumped out to the early lead in the Suss.net Sportsman feature over Jim Bob Rogers, Craig Holmes, Tommy Roe and Nick Brinlee. Josh Flood spun for a lap 5 caution and then Roe and Brinlee got by Holmes on lap 6. Roe got by Rogers for second on lap 13 and started running down his teammate. On lap 16, Roe took the lead from Kemmit and opened up a lead. On lap 25, Stephanie Brown spun for a caution to bunch up the field and give Kemmit one last shot at Roe. Roe held off the charges from his teammate Kemmit for a GTI sweep. Rogers was third with Holmes nipping Brinlee for fourth at the line.

Richard Burton led early in the Snap-On Tools Pro Truck race with Chris Leaf, Mark Neff, Happy Ferree and Adam Deines in tow. Josh Fellows was second on lap 5 and Ronnie Hults was up to fifth on lap 13. The front four trucks were racing hard for position putting on a fantastic race. On lap 19, hard racing between Neff and Ferree moved Hults into third as body pieces off both the trucks went flying for a caution. Leaf had taken the lead right before the caution. On the restart, contact in turn 2 sent Richard Burton spinning then Steve Johnson and Dustin Courter crashed trying to avoid Burton. Ferree was penalized to the rear of the field and Leaf now led Hults, Neff, Fellows and Kellogg. Neff started fading back with a damaged truck and Hults took the lead on lap 23. On lap 24, contact sent Adam Deines spinning up and track and going drivers-side first into the turn 1 wall. The race was shortened and a green-white-checkered would determine the race. Hults held on for the win over Leaf, Fellows, Kellogg and Randy Whitman.

Roger Avants jumped out to the early lead in the ableplanet Late Model with Ronnie Hults, Mike Gallegos, Darren Crocker and Darren Robertson following. Rick Smith was fifth on lap 7 and Crocker was third on lap 10. Hults and Avants started an awesome battle for the lead on lap 13 with both drivers giving it everything they had. On lap 17, Smith got by Gallegos for fourth and caution flew on lap 22 after PJ Mattorano and Steve Yackey tangled then Bear Lynch crashed into Yackey. Crocker’s great run ended on lap 34 when his car slowed, then continued for a caution, then stopped on the track. Gallegos pulled off under the caution and Avants now led over Hults, Smith, Bruce Yackey and Joe James Jr. Chris Atkinson passed James for fifth as a caution was thrown for a possible fire under the hood of Tyler Chrisinger's car. Atkinson got by James for good on lap 38 as Avants held on for the win over Hults, Smith, B Yackey and Atkinson.

The night ended with the Witthar Racing Bus race and Jared Wall led early and on lap 5, Wall hit the Kacey Fleenor bus in the X. Fleenor tipped on his side and Wall had a small problem as he had no steering and a stuck throttle. Wall head the backstretch wall head-on breaking the wall into pieces, destroying his bus and ending the race. The win was awarded to Wendy Sutherland with Randy Barnes in second ahead of Kurt Weyand.
