TARR FAMILY CAPTURES MAIN EVENTS

POST FALLS, Idaho — The Tarr family celebrated two feature wins during Wednesday Night Fever at Stateline Speedway. Dad, Matt Tarr, won the Fever 4 main event and son Treven took the win in the Road Runners in last lap battles.

Long time racer Matt Tarr used slower traffic ahead of the leaders on the last lap of the Fever 4 30-lap main event to pass Andy Brown for the win charging to the finish line. Brown led a majority of the race holding off Tarr around lapped traffic until the white flag lap.

Brown went high entering turn four trying to clear a lapped car. The lapped car drifted high allowing Tarr to drop underneath for the run down the front strech and pass.

Tarr also won the fast heat. Brown took second followed by KC Garber and fast time driver Mel Auckerman. The race was halted for a red flag mid race when Matt Schoen impacted the front stretch wall.

Craig O’Neal won the fast dash finishing seventh. Bruce Garber won a dash and heat rounding out the top ten.

Five races remain in the Wednesday Night Fever championship series. Mel Auckerman now leads the Fever 4 division by five points in the standings over Rich Hatton who suffered mechanical problems.

Treven Tarr held off Road Runner point leader Scott Rupert to take the win for the division in the 20-lap main event. The two drivers traded the lead in a side by side battle during closing laps with Tarr inching Rupert at the finish line. Eric Harris finished third followed by dash winner Jamie Allen.

Devin Rupert collected another B main event victory. Brian Sawatzki scored triple wins taking a dash, heat and C main victory. Shane Zettle and Justin Meyers won dashes. Steve Mathers, Chuck Davidson, and Steven Murfin took heat wins.

Scott Rupert leads a three car battle in point’s 27-points over fast time driver Tim Benn. Tom Harris drops to third after mechanical problems.

Yvonne Lifsey set fast time and won a lap shortened main event for the bump to Pass cars over Travis Cox. The race was declared official just short of the scheduled 15-lap mark when Monty Dotson and heat winner Glen Alborn collided in turn two.

Alborn was stopped on track after a spin and was hit by Dotson. The impact sent Alborn rolling on his roof. Officials called the race after substantial fluids had leaked from the tipped car onto the racing surface. Both drivers were uninjured.

Henry Blakenbaker won the dash and A heat race.

Stateline Speedway will host a Big and Small car Demolition Derby Saturday night starting at 6pm with opening events. Adult admission is only $10.75; kids under six are free.
