SOLON SPRINGS, Wisconsin — The Brady Smith Racing team racked up their fifth victory of the 2008 racing season last Saturday night, August 30 at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota! Brady Smith sported a fast car all night, as he won his heat race and the dash to earn the pole position for the $5,000 to win World Dirt Racing League (WDRL) Series main event.
The Solon Springs, Wisconsin native then swapped the lead on several occasions with Chris Simpson during the 40-lap A-Main before guiding his AMSOIL / Big Red Motorsports / Mid-States Equipment & Hydraulics #2 Bloomquist / Vic Hill racecar to the win ahead of Chris Simpson, Chad Simpson, Justin Fegers, and Eric Pember. The WDRL triumph was the second straight series victory for Brady, as he also won the rain-postponed 'Masters' back on August 1 at the Cedar Lake (WI) Speedway. "I really enjoy when we get the opportunity to race at Deer Creek," commented Smith. "It is pretty close to home and we usually have a lot of family, friends, and fans up there rooting us on. I wasn't sure when the decided to farm up the track before the feature, but everything worked out. It was a great race and it feels great to come out on top. The #2 team now has their sights solely focused on the upcoming 'World 100' at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
