CARPENTERSVILLE, Illinois — Dennis Erb and his #28 Dirt Late Model team wrapped up their busy, yet successful, month of August last weekend with three nights of racing action in the Land of Lincoln. Their weekend kicked off on the right note, as Dennis racked up his twelfth feature win of '08 on Friday night, August 29 at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois. He qualified fastest in his group, won his heat race, and later outdueled Billy Faust and Rodney Melvin in the Northern Allstars Late Model Series (NALMS) sanctioned main event to record the $2,000 payday!

On Saturday evening, the dirt-slinging action switched to the Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois, as FALS hosted the annual $10,000 to win 'Prairie Dirt Classic.' Dennis started from the outside of the sixth row for the UMP DIRTcar Series spectacular, but passed ten cars en route to a strong runner-up showing behind winner Billy Moyer. The ultra-busy Labor Day holiday weekend then wrapped up for the #28 team on Sunday, August 31 at the Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois. Dennis wound up sixth in the regularly scheduled $2,000 to win main event at Lincoln, while he finished fifth in the rain-postponed $2,000 to win feature from July 27. You can view complete results from all of these races online at www.tricityspeedway.net, www.fairburyspeedway.com, and www.lincolnspeedway.org.

"We had another good weekend at Granite City, Fairbury, and Lincoln," quoted Erb earlier in the week. "The cars, motors, and everything are all running really well right now. Hopefully, we can keep things rolling into the World 100 at Eldora this weekend!"

The #28 team now has their sights solely focused on the upcoming 'World 100' at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Qualifying for the "Granddaddy of Them All" will take place on Friday night, September 5. The heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap, $41,000 to win main event are all scheduled for Saturday evening at the "Big E."
