RICHARD “THE ROCK” BURTON TAKES PRO-TRUCK WIN AT COLORADO NATIONAL SPEEDWAY

Richard “The Rock” Burton took his first Snap-On Tools Pro Truck win during the Sunoco Race Fuel Rumble Saturday night at Colorado National Speedway. In his first ever CARC Modified Coupe appearance, Ronnie Hults took the wingless feature. Nick Martinez added a couple more points to his lead with a win in the Loveland Goodyear Figure 8 feature and Nick Haygood took the ERA Super Modified feature. Tommy Roe scored his sixth 2008 Suss.net Sportsman feature as well.

Tom Adler shot out to the early lead in his ERA Super Modified and led Craig Moore, Stevie Gallegos and Matt Gilbert. On lap 3, the caution flew for fluid on the speedway. On lap 4, Nick Haygood was up to second from the back with Moore Gallegos and Gilbert following Haygood. Gallegos got by Moore on lap 6 and Stone was fourth on lap 7 moving Moore to fifth. Gilbert was fifth on lap 8, and Johnny Pickard took over fifth on lap 10. On lap 12, Haygood caught Adler and shot into the lead. Stone was now third and Richie Castor Jr moved into fifth on lap 20. Gallegos spun for a lap 22 caution to bunch up the field. Haygood set sail and led the rest of the way over Adler, stone, Pickard and Castor.

The Figure 8 main got off to a wild start when Dan Mast spun and the whole field missed him. Nick Martinez led early over Jared Wall, Dave Smith, Joe Matlock and Eddie Garcia. Harry Livermore Jr was fifth on lap 2 and John Johnson took fifth on lap 3. Al Duran and Jereme Wall tangled for a lap 4 caution and another caution flew on lap 5 for Frank Gastineau spun with a missing driveshaft. Johnson took fifth on lap 5 and spun for a caution on lap 6. Livermore was now fourth and Garcia spun for a lap 8 caution. Duran moved into fifth on lap 12, and caution flew on lap 13 when Eddie Garcia and Joe Gastineau tangled. Duran was penalized for jumping a restart moving Smith back into fifth. Martinez held on for the win over Matlock, Wall, Livermore and Smith.

Corey Gordon took the early lead in the Wingless CARC Modified coupe feature with Ronnie Hults, Rich Bubak, Jaime Bubak and Frank Denning III following. Caution flew on lap 3 when Michael Fetters and Tony Umberger crashed in turn 3. Hults took the lead on the restart with R Bubak, Gary Land, Gordon and J Bubak following. Joseph St Peter and Denning collided for a lap 6 caution and Carl Vair took over fifth on lap 6, with Vair taking over fourth on lap 8. Chet Graham spun for a lap 14 caution and the race was given 5 more laps due to time. Hults held on for the win over Land, R Bubak, Vair and rookie Gordon.

Tommy Roe jumped out to the lead in the Suss.net Sportsman feature over Jeff Walbaum, Jim Bob Rogers, Craig Holmes and Steven Maas. Bruce Borchardt took fifth on lap 2 and cars spun for a lap 3 caution and Eric Blackard pitted. Borchardt took fourth on lap 4 and they ran like that until lap 21 when Borchardt spun and Holmes was sent to the rear. Nick Brinlee was now fifth and moved into fourth on lap 26 and Blackard raced into fifth on lap 28. Roe took the win over Walbaum, Rogers, Brinlee and Blackard.

Beau Kellogg jumped into the early lead in the Snap-On Tools Pro Truck feature over Richard Burton, Happy Ferree, Dustin Courter, and Adam Deines. Chris Leaf was fifth on lap 3 with Leaf and Deines dropping Courter out of the top 5 on lap 5. Ferree moved by Kellogg on lap 26 and Hults got by Deines on lap 29 for fifth. Ferree and Burton raced hard on the last lap with Burton taking the win over Ferree, Kellogg, Leaf and Hults.
