Ryan continues his very impressive rookie season capturing his third overall win of the year and 5th win in class. The INEX Legends car series typically run all classes together (Masters, Pro & Semi Pro/Young Lions) but scored separately… when a semi pro wins the overall it is rewarded with 5 bonus points in the national series.
Ryan Reed Racing unloaded at the top of the speed charts, 2nd in the first practice and qualified 3rd , missing the pole by .06 seconds. When the green flag dropped, Ryan wasted no time moving to the top spot in the first 5 laps. By lap 22 Ryan had pulled away to a comfortable lead when the cautions started to fall, tightening the field. Ryan held off several challenges and a shot to the rear bumper on the last restart for the win. “We definitely had a great car but you never no what’s going to happen on the restarts, my crew chief Toby (Robert Tobias) gave me an awesome car and we just kept pulling away.” - Ryan
Saturday night was Ryan’s 7th race in the past four weeks racing five races in Indiana and twice at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. Ryan placed 6th on August 30th in the INEX Young Lions Nationals at the Indianapolis Speedrome and 7th overall/ 3rd in class at Anderson, IN 100 lap regional qualifier the night before. “The last few months have really been a lot fun and a great experience for Ryan.” – Mark Reed
With just 3 points races remaining in the 2008 season Ryan has put up some very impressive numbers in his Rookie Season – ( 3rd in overall points at Irwindale, 3 overall main event wins, 16 top 5 finishes, 21 top 10 finishes in 25 starts).
