COLLIERVILLE, Tn — Tucker Motorsports with their driver, Jake Tucker, returned to action on Saturday night at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas behind the wheel of his #11 Parts Plus/Valvoline Oil/Larry Shaw/Dynotech Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified.
The past few weeks have seen Jake in several situations of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and having his night ended by other competitor’s miscues. Tucker finally turned his luck around on Saturday night. After starting 7th in his heat race Jake advanced to a 4th place finish, which earned him a 6th starting position for the 15 lap feature. Early in the event, Jake would crack the top five in the seventeen car field. By lap eight he was up to the third position, and he would go on to hold down the third spot for the last half of the race to record a podium finish on the racy ¼ mile, gumbo oval.
With his third place finish, Jake is now fourth in the current Open Wheel Modified point standings at Riverside with just a few events remaining in the 2008 season.
