Getting ready for a new season in NASCAR racing is hard on every team, regardless of the division. Hours upon hours of work goes into the car. Money is often spent testing the car. It is not unusual for the intense focus on the car to result in the team being at it's strongest the beginning of a season.
The No. 70 Star Nursery team headed up by crew chief Bobby Meyn and car owner Craig Keogh has worked as hard as any team in the weeks leading up to this weekends Winter Heat, the season opener for the NASCAR Southwest Touring Series.
But it is probably safe to say that the same team has worked harder than any other team out there this past week. It was only a little over a week ago that the car the team had poured their hopes and sweat into was stolen. Many questioned that the team would even make this first race. But, every single member of the team pulled together, sometimes working 24 hours a day and today the new No. 70 StarNursery Chevrolet is ready to go.
Said car driver, Greg Pursley, "I have to thank each and every one of these guys. They worked so hard. The hours they put in were grueling. They pulled off a miracle. There is no way I can thank Bobby and the guys enough. I am so proud to be part of such a wonderful team."
And now the team is off to Phoenix International and although they do not have the primary car they worked so hard at getting ready for this event, they have a car that is capable of winning and a driver that can get the job done. There will be a lot of fans pulling for this very dedicated team!![]()
