JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Jason Fitzgerald and the Mixson Motorsports Team will travel to the state of Georgia this weekend for a pair of O'Reilly Southern All Stars sanctioned events. Jason will compete Friday at Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, GA for a 50-lap $5,000 to win feature event. Then on Saturday Jason and the team will travel to Sylvania, GA and compete at Screven Motor Speedway for a $10,000 to win feature event. Both events will count towards the O'Reilly Southern All Stars series point's standings. Jason is currently in second place in the series points standings and leads the series "Rookie of The Year" category. This past weekend Jason and the team traveled to the famous Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH this and competed in the prestigious World 100. This was the first ever visit for Jason as a driver in the biggest dirt late model event of the year. Jason would post an impressive qualifying lap of 36th out of the 175 drivers entered. By the luck of the draw Jason would start on the pole for the sixth heat race with an opportunity to make the 28 car starting field. At the start Jason would fall into 3rd place and struggle the remaining laps throughout the heat race with an ill-handling racecar and finished a disappointing 12th place in the heat race. "It was a great experience for me as my first time to Eldora as a driver. We qualified good hit the invert just right but I didn't tighten the car up enough for the track that dried out by the sixth heat race. But it was good to get some laps there and we'll be much better the next time we go there. Have to thank my car owner and team for giving the chance to even go to Eldora. Were looking forward to this weekends events and hopefully get a win on the Southern All Stars series this weekend", stated Jason.
