PETALUMA, Ca — Sebastopol’s Bradley Terrell will return to his home track of Petaluma Speedway this Saturday night for the final All Pro Point Series event of the season as well as the Hoosier Racing Tires Civil War Sprint Car Series.
Driving his Terrell Racing owned, Argonaut Construction-Millhouse Glass sponsored #43 Maxim sprint car, the 17-year-old third year sprint car driver will look for his fifth feature event victory of the year at the track he calls home and possible first ever victory in the traveling Civil War Sprint Car Series.
“I always enjoy when the Civil War Series comes to our home track,” said Terrell. “It would mean a lot to get a top finish in this event and have a good showing on the final race of the year. We’re looking forward to it.”
Terrell returns to the North Bay 3/8 mile following competition in the annual Pacific Sprint Cup Invitational in Chico last week. The Wednesday night event opened four big nights of racing featuring the World of Outlaws and the best drivers in California competing in an invitational event featuring the top 32 cars in the Civil War campaign.
After turning the 10th fastest lap in qualifying, Terrell drove from fourth place into second in the 10-lap preliminary heat race to secure a starting position in the 30-lap A-feature. During the event, Terrell was clearly on his way to a top ten finish in the race until a flat rear tire late in the event forced him to a 16th place finish in the race.
Despite the tough luck in Chico, Terrell advanced one position in the Civil War standings and will enter Saturday’s race in the 11th position overall. He has one top five finish in the 9 starts he has made in the Civil War and three top ten finishes. Saturday’s event is also the final All Pro Points race of the season for the Petaluma Speedway championship. Terrell is fourth in the standings and is a four time feature winner in the weekly championship series.
Following Saturday’s event, Terrell will continue to compete with the Civil War Sprint Car Series. One week from Saturday he will travel to the south bay when the series makes its one time visit to Ocean Speedway. In two weeks the series will conclude on September 27th at Placerville Speedway. Following the Civil War Series, 360 sprint car racing continues in Northern California with the Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals in October followed by the Annual Trophy Cup in Tulare.
