KEVIN HARVICK LOOKING TO BEAT A MONSTER

Kevin Harvick will be looking for his first win in the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series at the one-mile track of Dover (Del.) International Speedway. In 12 previous Nationwide Series starts, Harvick has two top-five and seven top-10 finishes. He has led 290 laps and completed 99.5 percent of laps attempted (2389 of 2402 laps).

In 15 previous Sprint Cup starts, Harvick has two top-five and five top-10 finishes and has competed 97.7 percent of laps attempted (5864 of

6004 laps).

CHASE FOR THE CUP: This week’s race at The Monster Mile will mark round two of ten in the 2008 Chase for the Sprint Cup. Following the Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Harvick sits 10th, 86 points behind leader Carl Edwards.

150 AND COUNTING: Harvick’s eighth-place finish in the Emerson Radio 250 at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway marked his 150th career top-10 finish in 209 (71.8 percent) Nationwide Series starts.

BEFORE THE RACE: QUOTES WITH DRIVER KEVIN HARVICK:

What kind of track is Dover? “Dover is an extremely fast track. You really need to concentrate the entire race just to make sure you don’t get caught up in someone else’s mistake. The track is very narrow with a lot of banking, which makes for some great side-by-side racing. This track is one of the toughest places on our circuit to pass. You also need to have a good qualifying run since pit road is very small and narrow which can cause you to lose many positions during a routine pit stop."

What are the keys to being successful at Dover? “The key to being successful at Dover is rhythm. If you get into a rhythm with a particular setup, you're going to be successful here. The last few races at Dover we have had trouble, but hopefully we can turn that around.”

CAMPING WORLD TRIPLE PLAY: This weekend at The Monster Mile, Camping World will have one of its largest showings this season. On Friday night the Camping World (East) Series will run, followed by the Nationwide Series Camping World RV Sales 200 on Saturday and the Sprint Cup Camping World RV 400 on Sunday.

CHASSIS HISTORY: This week the Camping World crew will unload chassis No. 044 for Harvick at The Monster Mile of Dover (Del.) International Speedway. This chassis was last on track with Cale Gale at Bristol

(Tenn.) Motor Speedway where Gale earned his first career pole and his first career top-five, finishing in the fourth position. In addition this chassis has been on track with Gale at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis (sixth-place finish) and at The Milwaukee Mile (12th-place finish).

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: The Nationwide Series last ran at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway on Sunday, September 7, after Tropical Storm Hanna played havoc on the schedule forcing NASCAR to cancel all Nationwide and Sprint Cup activities until Sunday. Starting the race from the seventh position, Harvick spent most of the night in the top 10 before a pit road emtry penalty on lap 204, while under caution, caused the team to restart on lap 217 in the 19th position. With a fast car, Harvick was able to pick his way through the field to cross the finish line in eighth.
