HAYWIRE RACING LOOKING TO WRAP THINGS UP

TACOMA, Washington — The #68 HayWire Motorsports / KMB Design Groups / Print-NW / Ringers Gloves / Mauritsen Enterprises Toyota Camry heads to Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval looking to wrap up their run in the Limited Late Model Racing Series 2008 season, Saturday, September 20th, 2008.

After an impressive run at Port Angeles Speedway where driver “Terrible” Tim McDougald fell just short of a repeat win on the track where he claimed his first LLMRS Main Event, the focus now becomes finishing out the season on a high note. The final race of the 2008 LLMRS season will bring to and end the best season of McDougald’s career. “I’ve never had a season like this one. I couldn’t be happier,” said driver “Terrible” Tim McDougald, “I’ve had some good seasons in the past, but nothing comes close to what we have accomplished this year. I can not thank my guys enough for the great car they have given me all year. This thing has been nothing short of spectacular every time I take to the track. Even when things go wrong, they get right in there and fix it. They are the best, and they deser ve all the credit.”

Returning to WVSO, McDougald brings with him the confidence of his first visit there earlier this season. The Tacoma based team qualified 2nd fastest, missing the fast time by fractions of a second. During the Heat Race, the team found themselves with heavy damage to their #68 KMB Design Groups / Print-NW / Ringers Gloves / Mauritsen Enterprises Toyota Camry. But as is the standard in this team’s pit, the tools came out and repairs were made before the Main Event. Safety laps showed the car to be just as fast as it qualified after the repairs, showing the team, and the competition, that they were still in it to win. In the end, a rain out would settle things and the team would have to wait for redemption. “I’m looking forward to going back to Wenatchee,” said McDougald, “We had a great car there, even after the wreck. It was kind of a bummer that the rain came. I really wanted to go out there and show how we bounce back. But the reality was, we found some other stuff once we got back to the shop that we missed, so it was probably a good thing it rained. But I’m after that last win of the season, and we’re gonna pull out all the stops on this one.”

As the team heads to WVSO, they continue to hold down the number 2 spot in the 2008 LLMRS standings. With a firm hold on the 2nd spot, McDougald can finish the season no worse than 3rd in the Championship Standings. “I really can’t put it into words what this season has meant to me,” said McDougald, “I’ve never been a part of something like this. Starting with claiming the first trophy of the season in the Trophy Dash at Ephrata, to winning the first PA race, to returning to Ephrata and sweeping the whole show. We were the first repeat winner this year, we were the first to sweep an event, it’s just been amazing all year. No matter what happens, we’re in the top-3. But I won’t settle for anything less than 2nd, where we curren tly sit. We won’t give up until the last lap is done, that’s for sure. My guys are the best; they fight until the final second. I really can’t say enough about them.”

Be sure to catch the #68 KMB Design Groups / Print-NW / Ringers Gloves / Mauritsen Enterprises Toyota Camry as they head to Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval for the final race of the 2008 LLMRS Championship Season. And be sure to catch the #92 RPM Sales & Service / Old West Graphics / Ringers Gloves / KMB Design Groups / Mauritsen Enterprises Pontiac Grand Prix on the Whelen All-American series schedule at Evergreen Speedway.
