WATERVILLE, Ohio — Matt Miller and the Stephen McCullough owned team based out of Ohio will travel to Brownstown Indiana this weekend September 19-20th and defend his "Jackson 100" title at Brownstown Speedway. Matt won the 2007 "Jackson 100" at the Indiana race track with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioning the event. This year's event will again be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and will be a two day $20,000 to win feature event. SPEED Channel cameras will also be on hand to tape the event for a future broadcast on the SPEED Channel network. Matt hasn't competed since a strong finish at the World 100 at Eldora Speedway a couple weeks ago. Matt along with 175 other drivers entered the crown jewel event with hopes of making the feature and being competitive in the main event. Matt did just that as he transferred into the feature by his second place finish in one of the 20-car qualifying heat races. Matt would start 10th in the 28 car feature that paid $41,000 to win. Matt would have a strong car throughout the event and was running as high as 3rd place but finished a strong 4th place in the final run down.
"We had a really great car at the World 100. We just need a caution earlier in the race to get up there with the top three or four guys but it didn't happen till lap 82. Then Eldora still leaves lapped cars in between the cars on the lead lap and it just took to much time to clear those guys to get a run on Clanton and Owens. It was still a great run and my best finish ever in a World 100", stated Matt. "Were also excited about going back to Brownstown this weekend. We won the event last year and I seem to run really well there most of the time. I'll be driving McCullough's Rocket Chassis this weekend which has been good just about everywhere we've been with his stuff. Should be a big field of cars and a great event, were looking forward to it", stated Matt.
After this weekends event Matt will travel to Knoxville, IA for the Lucas Oil Knoxville Nationals at the famous Knoxville raceway on September 25-27th. Matt will drive the Moring Motorsports Team car at the Knoxville event and will compete all three nights of the prestigious event.
