RUPERT, GARBER, LIFSEY CLAIM VICTORIES

POST FALLS, Idaho — With only two races remaining in the series, Scott Rupert, KC Garber, and Yvonne Lifsey battled to victory lane during Wednesday Night Fever at Stateline Speedway. For the second straight week records fell in both the Road Runners and Fever 4’s divisions.

Scott Rupert widened his point lead in the Road Runner division besting new track record setter Chuck Davidson to win the 20-lap main event for the division to increase his lead.

Rupert, winner of a point awarding heat, ducked to the inside dash and heat winner Treven Tarr on the restart midway in the race and checked out. Davidson, who broke his own track record by a tenth of a second, tried to close in during final laps but was unable to catch Rupert. Steve Mathers finished second followed by Steve Schovaers.

The win is Rupert’s fourth of the season and increases his point lead to 21-points over Tim Benn in second.

Rick Manzer won the B main event. Brian Sawatzki took the win in the C main event along with the A dash victory. Clay Merrill and Buck Miller won dashes. Garrett Rupert and Mike Hall were heat winners.

A season record of 48-cars attempted the Road Runner race.

KC Garber recorded the main even win for the Fever 4’s passing race leader Justin Lovitt with ten laps to go to take the victory over Chris Kellogg and Craig O’Neal. Bruce Garber and Dave Frank rounded out the top five. Lovitt finished tenth.

Celebrating his birthday O’Neal broke the track record, previously held by Andrew McKee from last week, by two one-hundredths of a second at a time of15.374.

KC Garber also won the fast dash. Matt Tarr won the fast heat. Rick Dawson won a dash and heat race.

Rich Hatton opened up a 29-point lead on Mel Auckerman in standings with a ninth place finish. Auckerman was running in the top five when another car avoided the wall clipping Auckerman ending his night with damage.

Yvonne Lifsey lapped cars all the way up to third place to win the Bump to Pass main event. Fast time and dash winner James Cotter finished second after early race contact. John Hollingsworth finished third. Henry Blakenbaker won the heat race but was knocked out in opening laps of the finale.

Saturday Stateline Speedway hosts championship night for the INSSA Super Stocks Series, Hobby Cars, and Northwest Pro 4 Trucks. Strong contingents of racers are expected for the finale in all divisions. Over 20 cars are attempting the INSSA finale led by point leader and defending champion Dave Garber.
