Without the strong presence of a team effort not even guys like Gordon can get the job done. Sunday February 4, 2001 the Desert Thunder Motor Sports team came together as one, not only did they produce a good finish at the Phoenix International Raceway they found confidence within themselves.
Over the past year or so the Driver of what was the 17 machine and now the 94 “Darrell LaMoure” has been building a team. Last week car-owner Roger LaMoure brought in a ringer “Roger Bracken” to manage this team. Bracken being one of the best in the west he was able to assist the guys to gain better understanding of what needs to be done to be successful.
Truck Works Inc. a Phoenix based collision repair and painting facility along with the number one auto parts supplier in the country Napa Auto parts and Martin Senour paints joined the effort as sponsors for the #94 “Racing for the Missing” Chevy Monte Carlo Together with Steve LaMoure, Rob Mundel, Stacey Carman, Tom Trapp, Bob Neary, Jimmy Garcia, Keith Benson and Eric Steele (the team) gelled as they say!
I saw Darrell drive a few times and wanted to help with his awareness campaign, we feel strongly about what he and his team are doing in the community; Said Colin Dickinson Owner Truck Works inc.
Ned Dickerson of Napa Auto parts said we have watched Darrell for years and are proud to be a part of a successful race program, what he does with those misfortunate family’s is wonderful and we commend him and his team. We are 100% behind him.
On Sunday I just drove the car as hard as I could my team prepared the car and during the pit sequence they gave me two spots on the restart. That’s why we finished so well and that was with our wide five car! Once I made ground one the lead pack it was all I could do to stay there, those guys were fast; Said Darrell LaMoure
