Auto Club Late Models
Andrew Myers of Huntington Beach snapped an 11-race winless streak to win the Auto Club Late Model 40 lap feature race Saturday night (September 27) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. The victory was his 6th of the season and kept his mathematical hopes alive in the battle for the Auto Club Late Model division championship after division points leader Tim Huddleston of Agoura Hills finished in 14th place. Nick Joanides of Woodland Hills is second in the standings, finished in 9th place.
King Taco Super Trucks
Rod Johnson, Jr. of Canyon Country won his second consecutive King Taco Super Trucks division 100-lap feature race Saturday night (September 27) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Pat Mintey, Jr. of Quartz Hill finished in eighth place clinching his second consecutive division title while Connor Cantrell of Valencia finished in second place in the race and in the division standings. Scott Dodd of Mira Loma finished in third place. Johnson’s victory allowed him to clinch rookie of the year honors.
Vista Paint Super Stocks
Brian Harrell of Riverside won his sixth consecutive Vista Paint Super Stock 35 lap feature race Saturday night (September 27) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. With the victory Harrell clinched the Vista Paint Super Stock division championship, his second division title in the last three years. Larry Cerquettini of Redlands finished in second place and Rich DeLong III of Santa Clarita finished in third place.
Pure Stocks
Mark Whitson of Riverside and Tommy Agosta of Chino swapped the lead on the final two laps of the race with Whitson prevailing to win the Pure Stock 30 lap feature race Saturday night (September 27) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Whitson beat Agosta to the finish line by 0.137 seconds. The victory was Whitson’s third of the season. Agosta took over sole possession of first place in the division point standings. Tom Whitson of Lake Elsinore finished in third place.
USAC K&N Filters Ford Focus Midgets
Alex Bowman of Tucson, Ariz. started from the pole position, led the entire race winning the USAC K&N Filters Ford Focus Midget 35 lap feature race Saturday night (September 27) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Bowman had to hold off the continuous challenge of division points leader Ian Miillie of Pleasanton who finished 0.137 seconds behind the winner. Brendan Langlois of Kamloops, British Columbia finished in third place.
