COLTON GARBER SLOBBER KNOCKER TITLE HOLDER

POST FALLS, Idaho — Colton Garber passed Ross Cooper after a multiple lap duel with 17-laps remaining to win the race and points battle for the first ever Slobber Knocker limited late model race Saturday night at Stateline Speedway.

Garber raced from the rear of the field after a full invert to pass Cooper on the outside on lap 58 for the win. Cooper finished second after leading for over 25-laps, holding off charges by Garber. Corey Juhnke raced into third after starting eighth.

Bruce Garber finished fourth in the race after setting fast time and spinning multiple times in the event. Matt Tarr took fifth leading the early portions of the race.

The 75-lap event was slowed by five cautions and was red flagged twice for a five car pile-up on the first lap taking out dash and heat winner Jason O’Neil and Wenatchee’s Chris Walters. The race was also halted on lap 13 when Terry Hoyt suffered mechanical problems and impacted the turn four dirt retaining wall.

Seventeen cars started the event that also awarded points for qualifying, heat finishes, and passing points in the main. The winner of the point’s battle won the Slobber Knocker title.

Colton Garber led the point portion of the event followed by Grandfather Bruce Garber in second. Both drivers tied for first spot heading in to the main event with fast qualifying, good heat finishes and started at the back of the pack after the invert to claim the most passing points.

Greg McKinley who finished strong in the heats and picked up passing points in the main took third and O’Neil who won a heat race before getting knocked out in the main event finished fourth in the points.

Ryen Tarr won a dash and led 12-laps of the main event.

Stateline Speedway concludes the 2008 season with the Wednesday Night Fever season finale, Wednesday at 6pm with the cars and superstars of the Road Runners, Fever 4’s, plus the wild and crazy Bump to Pass division. Adults are just $5.75; kids under the age of nine accompanied by adults are free.
