Mike Ledbetter of Ceres, CA. had 2 goals in mind when taking on the monster mile in Phoenix at the Phoenix International Raceway. In his rookie year, Mike wanted to make the show and finish the race. With a starting position of 38th the # 61 car finished 25th position.

On lap two Ledbetter was caught up in the turn three and four incident as he tried to avoid the wreck. Fortunately, it was only cosmetic damage and he was back to racing.

Making his way around the monster mile, Mike was getting valuable seat time and experience. The car felt good and was working better with each lap.

Lap 35 was unfortunate when a spark plug wire burned sending the Ledbetter car behind the wall to be repaired, losing many laps. The rest of the race Mike was able to get the seat time he wanted and finish the race in 25th position.

Both driver and Crew Chief Bruno Zwinggi were pleased with having met the goals on their first race. Bruno commented on what a good job the new crew did on their first time together. The crew consists of Car Chief James Clowers, Allen Huntley, Mike Ray, Thomas and John Cassara, Carl Dillard and car owner Bill Ledbetter.

Sponsoring the #61 car are E. R. Vines and Son, Sierra Water, Lagorio Communications, Pabco Gypsum and Bill's Dry Wall.
