When asked how he will approach the championship deciding event, Pettit explained his plan, “We will put a lot of effort into qualifying. With the way qualifying points are awarded, if we are in the top two in qualifying, we will gain enough points to secure the championship by taking the green flag of the race. Then we can race for the win with no worries about the championship.”
Raudman who was in a deadlock for the championship until two consecutive early race incidents resulted in damage to his #2 Approved Memory/Performance Electric Chevrolet.
