UKIAH, California — Come one come all, to the best auto racing in Northern California. Ukiah Speedway hosts its annual Halloween Bash October 24th –26th. A weekend filled with jam packed excitement for all ages. Festivities include the open wheeled excitement of the Modified division, the ever favorite Bombers, 4 cylinder Mini Stocks, Bandoleros, Street Stocks, and Pro-4 Modifieds. To top the weekend off there will also be a kids Halloween costume contest, a roll over contest, the wacky and wild sliders, and the blistery storm of a boat race.
Friday October 24th, the grandstands will be open free to the public (Friday only). Divisions will take this time to make any last minute adjustments to their cars and feel out the groove of the track before the action begins. This will also give the drivers a chance for first round qualifying. Come down and pick out your favorite driver from 4-8pm.
Saturday October 25th, the drivers take the stage. They will be competing for fastest qualifying time and best heat race finish for their starting position in Sunday’s main events. Grandstands open at 4:00pm with racing to start at 6:30pm. All kids 11 and under will be admitted free in the grandstands as long as they are in costume. During intermission there will be a costume contest with prizes going to the best-dressed kid. Fans will help decide their favorite ghoul, goblin and witch. Following the fast paced action and excitement of racing, the track will then turn the reigns over to the Dare Devils of Ukiah. A 10-foot dirt ramp has been carefully designed to accommodate these Dare Devils. After making a complete lap around the race track each car will hit that ramp at full speed and rack up as many points as he can with as many rolls as he can. The faster the cars go the more they roll.
Sunday October 26th is the Grand Finale. Grandstands open at noon with racing to begin at 1:00pm. Modifieds, Bombers, Street Stocks, Bandoleros, Mini Stocks, and Pro-4 Modifieds all racing extended laps with high money at stake to be the Halloween Bash Champion. Who will come out on top? Come cheer on your favorite and meet all the new faces from the surrounding race tracks compete under one banner. With the anticipation of 50 Modifieds Ukiah Speedway will run 2 full 75 lap main events for this division. There will be a $1000 bonus if the winner of the first 75 laps starts in the back of the second 75 laps and wins. Could this be done? Is there a driver out there up to this challenge? Come find out. Following the feature main events the wacky and wild sliders will slide their way on to the race track. Trying to keep control of their front wheel drive vehicles running with steel plates on the back tires creates an illusion of driving on ice. Slipping and sliding trying to make the most laps without colliding with your fellow competitors will be a challenge these drivers face. The race fans will decide the winner.
After the slider races, come watch a full field of skippers navigate their carefully prepared vessels through the track weaving in and out, up and down, the fallen debris and lost boats on the race track. Boats fly right and left, break apart, capsize and literally disintegrate. Cars pulling boats around a wet race track is the most fun these drivers will have all year and will give everyone something to talk about all winter long.
