The Willow Springs Speedway, promoted by Stock Car Syndicate, will present the latest round of its winter racing series this Saturday, November 15th,featuring racing action from eight divisions on the quarter mile paved oval located within the mammoth Willow Springs International Raceway complex in Rosamond-California. In Late Model action Anthony Mainella and Doug Foos have been the big winners from the previous two events and it's expected that both drivers will be returning this Saturday afternoon to make an attempt to get that second win of the season. But they can count on plenty of competition from the likes of Chris Peedan, John Penning and Gerritt Cromsigh just to name a few.
Next comes the question: who's going to step up and beat "Fast" Eddie Secord in the Pro 4 ranks? The Bloomington-California driver has been formidable in that Honda powered stock car and has won the first two divisions features of the season. This is a highly competitive, and very fast, racing division and you can expect the likes of Don Minut, Bryan Glidewell, Keith Blomgren and Robbie Ragains to show up to see if they can snap Secord's streak.
In Super Street Stock action Gerritt Cromsigh, who does double duty in this division as well as the Late Models, won the season opener October 5th in a very fast race car that normally campaigns at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. The October 26 race saw Rich Delong Sr, who climbed inside of a race car for the first time in 15 years, prove that he can still show the youngsters a trick or two. However Rich Delong III may have a say so regarding who wins the division's feature this Saturday.
Past results in the Pure Street Stock division shows that Jimmy Rouse Sr won the season opener on October 5th while Andrew Murphy was the big winner on October 26th. Street Stock fans will be hoping to see a repeat of that door to door duel to the win put on during the last race between Murphy and Jimmy Rouse Jr. Justin Good and Mike Coledo Jr could also be factors in this event as well.
In the Legend Car division veteran icon Art Neville won the season opener while 14 year old Race Liberate parked his car in victory lane following the most recent event. The likes of Bill Vose, Jim Pantier, Bob Blackmon and Rick Clark are also expected to provide some competition as well.
The young drivers in those small, but very fast, Bandolero cars will also need to take a look at snapping a winning streak. 13 year old Aaron Anderson has won both division main events so far this year. But strong runs from the likes of Ricky Schlick, Al Simpson, Mikey Lovas or Brandon Jennings could change that.
The green flag will fall on the first race of the day beginning at 12 noon.
