With the #85 Champion Wheel Team and driver Clint Curry making changes at a rapid pace, they found themselves in need of a new tool cart. What then do you do with the old one? Not a problem, donate it to the future of the sport...high school race teams.
CWI Racing has been adding new equipment to the Team over the past couple of years. They started with a Craftsman Truck entry they towed in a trailer behind a motorhome. When they purchased a hauler, they decided it would fit another car. So they bought Harvick's South West Tour entry for Curry to drive. The team has since added an additional SWT entry and team owner Milan Garrett is driving the #25.
Garrett and Curry redesigned and rebuilt the interior of the hauler themselves. At a time when they should have been working on the race car, they found themselves obsessed with giving the hauler a much needed face lift. After they completed the hauler, they realized their tool cart didn't fit quite like it should. Garrett's answer to that was build a new one. In the process, both Garrett and Curry have shown that they are multi-talented. Now they can add generous to their list of qualities.
The Porterville High Motorsports Team is excited about their new tool cart. They are in the process of painting it the school colors and getting ready for their own racing season. When they show up at the track with this beautiful tool cart and a second team in June, everyone will take notice.
If other teams are expanding and find excess equipment sitting around, consider making a donation to a high school team competing in Mesa Marin's Campus Motorsports program. These kids need everything from racing suits to cash sponsors. For more information contact Porterville High Advisor Brad Collins (559) 784-7337 (brad@ocsnet.net) or Judy Salamacha at Mesa Marin Raceway (661) 366-5711 (www.mesamarin.com). It is a program worthy of your support!
