WILTON, California — Troy Ermish, the “Iron Man” of the SRL Southwest Tour Series with the most career SRL starts will team up with championship car owner Bob Strandwold in 2009.
The deal to make Ermish part of Strandwold’s three car operation with teammates Dave Byrd and Craig Raudman began way back in April at Toyota Speedway.
“Troy and my brother Jeff were talking at Irwindale last year about how many cars we had in our stable, then other conversations lead to Troy expressing interest in driving for us,” said Strandwold.
“We’ll take care of the cars and he will use his crew and longtime crew chief Brian Boell on race day.” Strandwold added.
Ermish started out the 2008 SRL Southwest Tour Series season with a win at All-American Speedway in Roseville. Ermish believes his move to Strandwold’s team will help him realize more wins in 2009.
“I really feel like it’s a good fit for me, Bob has the best equipment and a great motor program,” Ermish stated.
“The record for the most starts is not a big deal for me, I care more about the win column and teaming up with Bob should help in that area.” Ermish added.
Not only will Ermish benefit from the experience of Byrd, Raudman, Boell and the Strandwolds, he will also have the support of Mike Naake in his pit on several occasions in 2009.
Ermish will drive #3 Monte Carlo as part of the Strandwold team, with sponsorship support from Allied Auto, AN Plumbing.com. Freightrain Peters Racing Engines, JDA Plumbing, Team Chevrolet, RTD Apparel and Vinyl Graphics, Moeller Bros. Body and Paint and Performance Electrical Co., Inc.
The SRL Southwest Tour Series will begin its ninth season at All-American Speedway in Roseville on April 4th.
