Andrew Myers will be pulling double duty this weekend driving in the 2009 Toyota AllStar Showdown at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.
Driving the # 77 Molecule, Jan's Towing, King Taco, J & M Racing, Toyota of Escondido Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Camping World Series owned by Performance Motorsports, Andrew likes his chances for this event. "This is my home track. I've won here in the Camping World cars and my team owner has also won here. This is the Daytona 500 for our series and we are eager to show what we got." said Andrew.
Also entered is the # 15 Eugene Dewberry owned Whelen Auto Club Late Model Monte Carlo sponsored by High-Tech Enterprises and Neo Synthetics. Andrew also likes his chances in this division after having started last season with 5 consecutive victories and finishing 3rd over-all in the standings. "This is a great ride. This car really cuts, has good forward bite and is fun to drive" said Andrew. "Eugene is a great owner who makes it possible for us to come out here on a weekly show."
Performance Motorsports would like to thank Gary and Nancy Myers for all the behind the scenes support and friendship. It truly shows what team work is all about.
Performance Motorsports spent the off season lounging at the river blowing up boat motors. They then came back for some serious fun helping out the Fred Jordan Mission with their annual Christmas Children's Give-Away. Once again over 20 thousand kids were treated to a holiday service, toys and food donated by quite a few generous donors. This is an annual event that Performance Motorsports puts high on it's to-do list. We are regularly joined by crew members, friends and NASCAR officials. The team also put in an appearance at the King Taco Restaurants Holiday Give-away. This program is called the Suenos De Navidad (Dreams of Christmas) and is put on by the King Taco Family. It is an awesome event in East Los Angeles that is highlighted by Santa coming in on a hook and ladder and over 10 thousand kids being treated to toys, food and medical check-ups. There are just a lot of good people out there that keep doing this year in and year out despite the economic and political turmoil. Thank God for them.
Our hearts and prayers also go out to the Jay Rutherford family. May the Lord lift them up and soothe their hearts.
