CAMERON'S BETTING ON A WIN

(February 22, 2001) -- Are you ready for some real racing? Well head out to the The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Wednesday February 28th and we'll give you some action. But don't go to the big track, make a left and head to the new 3/8 mile Bullring, because that is where the weekends best racing will take place.

This will be the first ever event for the NASCAR Winston West Series on the new 3/8 mile paved oval and it is sure to be an exciting one. Someone will set a new track record. Someone will be the first time winner. Austin Cameron wants to go home with both titles and so does his #12 AC Motorsports crew. "I can't wait to go to this new track", stated Cameron. "This is going to be a fun one." "I think the track is like Tucson, just more banked!" "I think some teams have tested out here, but I don't know if anyone has raced out here. Maybe Brendan (Gaughan) but that would be it." "The competition should be good though. Short track racing is always the best!" Austin on the first race of the season in Phoenix. "It felt good to finish on the podium at Phoenix. It gives us good momentum starting off the season. Our team did a great job and they all feel good going into Vegas. If we can finish well at the Bullring I think the rest of the year will be really good."

This will be the first of three straight short track events for the Winston West Series, with Tucson scheduled for March 10th and Bakersfield March 18th. Austin will be taking his favorite car to the track, so all should be aware. This is the car that sat on the pole at Irwindale and won Austin's first race at that same track. The NASCAR Winston West Race will kick off the weekends Busch Series and Winston Cup races. Winston Cup regulars scheduled to compete in the West Series Race are Daytona 500 winner Michael Waltrip, Rookie Ron Hornaday and Phoenix race winner Ken Shrader. 1999's Winston Cup Champion Dale Jarrett will be on hand Wednesday night at the track to sign autographs along with boxing legend Evander Holyfield.

On Tuesday night February 27th driver Austin Cameron and his winning #12 Chevrolet Monte Carlo will be on hand at the Race Rock Café from 7:30 - 9:00pm to sign autographs and take pictures with all race fans and their families. Be sure to come on down for this exciting event. Don't miss your chance to see 1998's Winston West "Rookie of the Year" Austin Cameron.
