PALMDALE, California — Miles Copenhaver, (one of the upcoming NASCAR drivers) plans on getting some different track experience at Havasu 95 Speedway in Arizona’s Lake Havasu City.
In 2008, at the Toyota Speedway, at Irwindale, Calif. Miles had five top tens, ten top fifteen finishes. He won one trophy dash and had one top five qualifying spot. Miles finished tenth in overall points. While being mentored by Ron Esau.
The Toyota Showdown was a great race for the entire WUI/PCM Motorsports team. The team did not get the good finish to show for it. Miles Copenhaver started third from the rained out qualifying. In the race the WUI/PCM sponsored car #8 was fast and moved up to second place and was working lapped traffic when the caution came out. While running around under caution the car developed an unfortunate mechanical problem that put them behind the wall for the rest of the race. Even with the finish they had, the team was really pleased with how the weekend turned out for them considering the weather that plagued the entire weekend. This series is so competitive, we now have a good race set up and we will now focus more on our qualifying set up. These cars are all so equal that after 4-6 laps the cars just stay the same. We have to find an edge that will consistently put us in the top 5 in qualifying
With the start to the season the WUI/PCM Motorsport team is excited to get the season started at Havasu 95 Speedway in February in a one-race deal. Miles and his PCM Motorsports team are really excited about going to Havasu 95 Speedway. It will be good to travel and get to know other tracks to race at.
