RYAN REED IS GETTING READY FOR A BUSY 2009

After a sensational 2008 rookie season in the INEX Legends Cars, the 15 year old is gearing up for the 2009 Legends track championship at Irwindale. “This is so exciting everything has really been falling into place since last year and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel” – Ryan. This will be a very busy and demanding year for the young Bakersfield, CA driver. Ryan will run 16 scheduled Legends car races and a limited schedule in dirt IMCA modified. Ryan Reed Racing (RRR) Legends team has partnered with Austin Reed the 15 year old son of Dave Reed former NASCAR Southwest Series championship car owner. “We believe that having a 2 car program will add some depth and economic benefits to help both of these young drivers have a great year” – Dave Reed. Ryan is also in negotiations with several top teams to compete in a Late Model Car this summer when he turns 16!!

2008 exceeded all goals for Ryan, capturing 7 INEX Legends wins in class (semi Pro), 3 overall wins, 21 top fives and 25 top tens in 29 starts. Other highlights included 3rd place in overall points at Irwindale, 6th place finish in the Young Lions Nationals in Indianapolis and being selected as one of the top candidates out of 700+ applicants in the Ron Sutton Winner Circle driver search program. Ryan was offered a seat for the 2009 season in a Ford Focus Midget and after very serious consideration decided to wait until he turns 16 and jump into a full size car! “As a dad I can’t be more proud and excited for Ryan… He has worked so hard and made every sacrifice and I hope this is just the start of great things to come” – Mark Reed.

Ryan has already got off to a fast start in 2009 capturing the pole and the main event win in the Legends race at Willow Springs on January 11th. Over the next few weeks Ryan and his crew have 2 Legends cars to repaint and prep, testing in 2 weeks in the IMCA dirt modified and 2 scheduled Late Model tryouts.

If that wasn’t enough Ryan is headed to Charlotte, NC next week to meet with a few of the top drivers and teams in NASCAR for career advice and driver development consideration. Other stops will include a tour at UNC Charlotte, 600 Racing & the NASCAR R&D center.

RRR wants to send out a special thanks to our crew Chief Robert “Toby” Tobias, all of our sponsors (Citrus Industries, Approved Memory, JH Sims Trucking, H&S Body Works & Fisher Bros.) and all of our great friends and fans!!!
