MILES “PISTONHEAD” COPENHAVER TWO FOR TWO WINS
In an effort to “pay it forward”, Miles in the PCM Motorsport #8 Ford had loaned out shocks and various other parts to help several of the local competitors run better.

Stock Car Race fans at the Havasu 95 Speedway are in for a treat this weekend as Ron Esau (Inaugural NASCAR Southwest Tour Champion) is slated to drive the PCM Motorsports of Lancaster, Ca. number 88 Ford late model race car. This is a special event being sponsored by PCM Motorsports. Paul Copenhaver of PCM Motorsports has requested to add 20 more racing laps and making a normal 30 lap event into a 50 lap extravaganza. Also PCM Motorsports has increased the winning prize purse to raise the bar on the competition.

With the bounty set higher, there might be more tough racers coming out of the hills to enter into this event.

Miles Copenhaver won the last event at Havasu 95, holding off Young Austin Murphy of Lancaster. For Miles, his first time at this track, he won wire to wire. Well Miles must have figured something out because at the race on March 15th, Miles “Pistonhead” Copenhaver not only won the dash but also the main event! Miles won in exciting fashion with 3 laps to go in the feature he passed Austin Murphy for the win. With PCM Motorsports #8 Miles is two for two.

Ron Esau making his debut at the Havasu 95 Speedway drove into the corners deep in qualifying and started 9th but quickly moved up to 4th behind Austin Murphy, Miles Copenhaver and 14 year old Jacob Bishop. The 54 year old Esau was having a great time pressing the young guns, but with 12 laps to go, the #88 cut a tire and had to pull off into the pits. Miles was running second and had to make his move for the lead with three laps to go, he set up and made a clean pass to overtake Austin for the checkered flag.

This victory for Miles proves he has what it takes to race because also in the field was a three time local champion, Bobby Kearns, the I-10 Speedway champion, Mark Schriner and Las Vegas Champion, Dustin Ash. In an effort to “pay it forward”, Miles in the PCM Motorsport #8 Ford had loaned out shocks and various other parts to help several of the local competitors run better. Miles and Ron will be running next at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale’s opening night March 21th.
