NATIONAL QUALIFIER POINTS FOR LEGENDS AND BANDOLERO TEAMS TO HIGHLIGHT LUCAS OIL 1 SPEEDWAY ACTION THIS WEEKEND

The Lucas Oil I 10 Speedway will be offering Legend Car and Bandolero racing teams two opportunities to collect valuable INEX National Qualifier points on both Friday and Saturday nights during the latest round of its Winter Blast Racing Series. The speedway will also be featuring the latest round of the Colorado River Late Model Series on Saturday night along with high flying action from the Factory Stock division. The quarter mile paved oval track is located at the Colorado River Fairgrounds in Blythe-California.

A full field of Legend cars are expected to be on hand at the Lucas Oil I 10 Speedway both Friday and Saturday night competing for those coveted INEX National points as well as local track points. The Legend Cars will be making their third appearance of the winter season at the speedway. Going into the weekend the track points has three drivers sitting on top of the points standings with only ten points between them. The top of the standings is dominated by the Snow family. Brecken Snow is the series points leader with 142 points that was helped by a feature win earlier in the season. Brandon Snow is only four markers behind him in second. Holding down third in the standings, and only ten markers from the lead, is Legend Car veteran Gary Scheuerell who won a double points feature on January 31st.

While the INEX national and local track points will be available to the teams on both nights, Saturday night will be the really big pay off for the Legend Car teams. The Saturday night feature is fifty laps and pays $400 to win. It also guarantees at least $75 just to start the A feature.

The youngsters in their small, but very fast, Bandoleros will also be racing, both Friday and Saturday, for INEX national and local track points including a 20 lap feature Saturday night. The Bandolero program is currently running an inter track points championship jointly presented by the Lucas Oil I 10 Speedway and the Havasu 95 Speedway in Lake Havasu City-Arizona. Also at stake are the individual track titles at the two speedways. The program is in turn receives sponsor support from JJ&B Racing and Bando Stuff. Going into this weekend drivers Kyle Niquette, Tommy Kelly and Alex Morgan are the series hot shoes and are involved in a points battle that is still too close to call.

The Colorado River Late Model Series is also a joint presentation between the two tracks and has been very exciting this year. Going into Saturday night Austin Murphy is on top of the series' points standings. With only two events left in the series, the Lancaster-California driver currently holds a 24 point lead over season rival Mark Schriner.

The always fun Factory Stocks will also be a part of the big show at the Lucas Oil I 10 Speedway Saturday night. This highly affordable entry level into stock car racing is a fan favorite because of the anything can happen, racing is rubbing, format that often comes with their feature races. Justin White continues to lead the division points standings going into this weekend.

The Friday, March 20th, action is a test and tune session for all of the racing teams and also features the INEX national points qualifier races for the Legends and Bandolero divisions.
