Gene Woods is ready for the season opener of the new Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series next weekend (April 4-5) at the Primm Valley Motorsports Complex in Primm, Nevada. The Bloomington, California based driver competed last year in the Championship Off Road Racing series, with Woods piloting the series’ only Dodge truck in the Pro 2 class backed by Deja Vu Gentlemans’ Clubs and Larry Flint’s Hustler Club. In the top 20 in class points, Woods Racing, like all the series’ other competitors ,was left with an uncertain future when the CORR series went bankrupt at mid-season.
"This is the most fun I’ve had racing in years."— Gene Woods
With the Lucas Oil company stepping in to support a new off-road series, which will feature six race weekends, two each at facilities at Primm, Speedword Motorsports park in Wittman, Arizona near Phoenix and Kal Gard Motorsports Complex in Lake Elsinore, Woods Racing will rejoin the sport along with other former CORR regulars with Deja Vu/Hustler and Dodge staying on board for the season opener.
“I can’t wait to get back.” Woods says of the sport. “This is the most fun I’ve had racing in years”.
