BAKERSFIELD, California — It may be the hottest ticket of the year in west coast short track racing, as the SRL Southwest Tour Series and the NASCAR Camping World West Series both compete this Saturday night at Roseville’s All-American Speedway. It will be the only race in 2009 that the two top touring divisions in the western U.S. will be competing at the same track on the same night.
It is the second consecutive year that both series will compete on the same night at Roseville, as the 2008 event was held in front of a sellout crowd.
“Bill McAnally and his staff have worked hard to make this a great event for the Roseville community, the SRL, the NASCAR Camping World West and most importantly the race fans of our region. We need big events for our sport to thrive, and this is a big event…we’re proud to be part of it.” stated the SRL’s Larry Collins.
“It’s a ‘who’s who’ of stock car racing on the west coast. The driver’s competing in this event represent well over fifty driving championships among them. You will never see this many quality competitors at any other race this year.” Collins added.
The top ten from the 2008 SRL championship will all be returning to Roseville this weekend for the start of the 2009 SRL Southwest Tour Series championship; Jim Pettit II, Craig Raudman, Greg Voigt, Keith Spangler, Josh Combs, Troy Ermish, Todd Bammer, Dave Byrd, Joe Farre’ and Justin Westmoreland. More than 26 SRL teams are expected to attempt to qualify for the “Riebes Auto Parts 125 presented by AmeriPride Uniform Services”.
The schedule of events for this Saturday night at All-American Speedway in Roseville will feature; the Baby Grands, Mini Cups, Modifieds, the SRL Southwest Tour Series and the NASCAR Camping World West Series.
