Sebring, FL; Mar. 1- The Historic Stock Car Racing Association kicks off its inaugural 2001 season this weekend at Sebring International Raceway. HSCRA in conjunction with Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) will host a ten-race championship for pre-1994 stock cars in their original sponsor livery.

The series will also make stops at Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, and Daytona International Speedway. The highpoint of the schedule will be the stop at Watkins Glen, where the group will be supporting NASCAR’s Busch Grand National event.

The championship promises to be action packed with the return of International Motorsports Association champion and Trans- Am winner Gene Felton. However, Felton will see stiff competition from Panoz Racing Instructor and NASCAR Goody’s Dash competitor, Chris Hall, who recently finished on the podium at the 24hrs of Daytona. Grand American GTU winner and Bob Bondurant instructor Darren law will also be making an appearance in the series. “We are extremely excited about our 2001 schedule and our relationship with HSR, “ stated Joe Fox, Executive Director of HSCRA. “Our involvement with HSR, a great driver line up and our supporting event with NASCAR gives us a strong inaugural season on which to build.”
