Indianapolis, Indiana -- The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series visited Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Tex., over the weekend for the O'Reilly Spring Nationals presented by Pennzoil. This marked the fourth stop on the 2009 season.
While he isn't an unfamiliar face in the Winner's Circle, the last third of the 2008 season left him with uncertainties for what 2009 would hold. After riding for the Lartigues' for many seasons and finishing out the 2008 season with Don Schumacher Racing, Craig Treble came to Gainesville, Fla., on a 10-year-old bike and a borrowed motor. Treble bowed out first round in Gainesville, but came back in Houston and qualified in the No. 2 position. He then defeated a first-time NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle finalist Doug Horne to score his 13th career win and add another race to his schedule. Treble had planned on parking the bike after Atlanta, due to running on his own dime, but now thinks he will be able to make through the Madison (Ill.) event.
Ringers' would also like to congratulate Top Alcohol Funny Car supporter Steve Harker on his win in Houston over Marty Nothstein. Sunday's win was Harker's third national event win.
