HOLMES LOOKING FOR A WIN AT BMR’S HOME TRACK

ANETLOPE, California — Eric Holmes and the No. 20 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota team are returning to the track where they clinched the 2008 NASCAR Camping World Series West championship title: All American Speedway in Roseville, California. The team will take the green flag in the Toyota/NAPA AUTO PARTS 150 on April 4th.

"We’re looking to give all the fans a great race and give them something to celebrate at the end of the night."Eric Holmes

Holmes led over 100 laps of the 150-lap race last fall. With hundreds of NAPA customers, employees and store owners in attendance, he looked for a final win of the season but was spun by championship contender Jason Bowles with two laps to go. He made his way back thru the field and recorded a fifth place finish. Returning with some unfinished business, Holmes and crew chief Ty Joiner look to once again put the No. 20 NAPA Toyota Camry from the stable of four-time championship team owner Bill McAnally, back in Victory Lane.

Other divisions racing will be the Western Scale Racing Association (WSRA), TMS Modified 50, and the SRL Southwest Tour Series. This race event is the season opener for the SRL Southwest Tour. Celebrating its ninth season in 2009, the SRL Southwest Tour Series is a regional stock car series competing on paved ovals in the southwestern portion of the U.S. The series utilizes cars based on the former NASCAR Elite Division Series rulebook. Running its second race of the season is the WSRA. The series runs Baby Grands and Mini-Cup cars. The TMS Modified Series is truly an All-American series. It features modified factory production American passenger cars powered by American model engines. Modified racing has been around for more than 60 years. Some drivers that have won championships in Modified cars include NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers Jimmy Spencer and Bobby Allison.

Quotes from Holmes: “It’s great to return to the BMR team’s home track in Roseville, California. We typically have a sellout crowd at the Placer County Fairgrounds. We’re looking to give all the fans a great race and give them something to celebrate at the end of the night.”

“My teammates are equally ready to race hard. Moses (Smith) and Paulie (Harraka) will be on my back door. Having all three of the BMR Toyota’s on the podium would be a great way end to the day.”
